Job Summary
Overview
We seek an experienced construction/operations manager to lead our team of project managers, journeymen electricians and installation crews. This position will work across the team and directly with ownership and senior management to develop and manage the internal systems and processes to keep projects on track and ensure that key milestones are tracked. Lead the overall productivity and effectiveness. This position will require strong leadership skills, knowledge of residential construction industries, and service work, installation process, KPIs, job costing, CRM tools, systems integrations, and ability to motivate and encourage team members. Manages teams to meet or exceed timeframes for construction while maintaining quality workmanship and following safety protocols.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees the Solar & Storage Installation department to ensure project goals are met while maintaining best installation and safety practices.
Provides technical expertise to residential project managers, supervisors, admin staff or construction team related to any customer facing issues.
Facilitating weekly reviews with Residential Project Managers to address upcoming workload, provide updates and project performance feedback. Identify action items and follow through on these.
Manage procurement of equipment in partnership with Sales Manager and distribution partners.
Oversees and ensures that jobsite inspections are processed and passed in a timely manner.
Works with Residential Project Managers to ensure proper allocation of teams based on the residential workload. Scheduling, etc.
Create and maintain subcontractor relationships as related to structural upgrades, excavation, concrete, etc.
Visit job sites regularly to promote and enforce company practices and policies.
Work with the Construction Coordinator to ensure that safety requirements from OSHA are met by the Installation team at all times.
Work with the Construction Coordinator to ensure that installation quality guidelines are met.
Ensures that the Residential Project Management team maintains a high level of communication with clients.
Provides support and communication to the customers if issues arise during the construction phase.
Maintain reporting of key performance indicators for residential solar & storage installation department.
Requirements
Demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with all colleagues, customers, and vendors.
Experience in the overall integration of design engineering, construction, start-up, close-out, turnover and subsequent O&M of a variety of construction projects - solar/electrical/roofing experience preferred..
Candidate works well in a team environment and has a positive outlook even when challenged,
Demonstrates strong computer skills, detail oriented work, organized, and shows pride in their work.
Safety-minded individual who follows and promotes OSHA and company safety requirements
OSHA training and certification
Familiar with local and national building and electrical codes and permitting
Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret plans for solar installations including but not limited to rooftop plans and Electrical SLDs.
